Ruckno Construction

History

For over 70 years the name Ruckno has been associated with custom home building and construction in the Wyoming Valley and its surrounding areas. Ruckno is especially proud of our philosophy and reputation for quality work, integrity in business and customer satisfaction.

Our founder, George L. Ruckno Sr. was born in 1904 in Forty Fort, PA. At the age of 15 he left home and went to work in the Philadelphia shipyards, working days and attending school at night until he earned a diploma from the Wharton School of Business in 1929. After graduating he entered the partnership of Delong and Ruckno which continued until 1937 when he formed George L. Ruckno Construction Company which was incorporated in 1945.

The company flourished throughout the 50's and 60's as a home builder and developer. With the coming of Hurricane Agnes in 1972 and the subsequent devastation that followed, the company branched out into remodeling and light commercial construction. It was about that time that George's sons George Jr. and Louis joined the company. Later, his daughters, JoAnn, and Mary followed. Today Ruckno boasts a third generation family member, Mr. Ruckno's grandson, Christopher Siegel.

Throughout the years Ruckno Construction has built a team of dedicated, competent and loyal staff of carpenters, sales personnel and sub-contractors. These people have been and continue to be the foundation of a company with an excellent reputation for quality, honesty and service. As the company grows and expands this tradition plays a key role in our success. Ruckno Construction is extremely proud of its history of long-term employees, many with over 30 years in the company, and some as third generation carpenters. As we move forward into the next decades, we are fully committed to these same values and traditions that have been our legacy.

From its original home building roots Ruckno Construction Company has grown into a full service construction firm, building custom homes, doing renovations and additions for residential and commercial customers as well as a wide variety of other services, including docks, pile driving, facilities maintenance, exterior renovations, kitchens, baths and more.
